WHERE there's music there will be brass when Cheltenham Town Hall resounds to the sound of talented young musicians later this month.
The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain will perform at the venue on Friday, August 9, with the concert forming part of its golden jubilee celebrations.
The band comprises some of the best young players from all over the country.
Among the programme of music on the night will be The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas, Concerto for French Horn by Edward Gregson and Variations for Brass Band by Vaughan -Williams.
Philip Biggs, of the band, said: "We are thrilled to be performing in Cheltenham Town Hall. This is a wonderful opportunity for music lovers to hear the outstanding stars of tomorrow performing."
The purpose of the band is to enable young people to play brass band music to high standards.
More than 3,000 players have participated in the 98 residential courses held since the band's foundation in 1952.
Any player of a brass band instrument aged 12-18 can audition for the band and many brass sections in most major symphony orchestras contain former members.
Tickets for the Cheltenham concert are available from the town hall box office on 01242 227979.
