WE'VE no fixture this weekend so it's a case of taking the opportunity to re-charge the batteries for the battles ahead.

And that means Otley can expect to tough time when we entertain them at Sixways a week on Saturday.

For me, it's a match I'm particularly looking forward to. After we had beaten them 40-23 at their place in October I remember reading their coach having a pop at us.

He said that Rotherham were the best side in the league, so I've had that in the back of my mind ever since and I'm sure I'll mention it in my team speech before we take them on!

With no game this Saturday, though, it does give us the chance to do our own thing with regards to training.

Today we are going to get-together for a bonding evening and try and socialise a little bit because we don't get an opportunity to do a lot of that.

From a training point of view I need to do some more speed endurance, but it's nice to have a little break and get away from the club for two or three days.

I'm sure we'll all benefit from it and we'll come back on Monday fully re-charged and with lots to talk about.

We'll be glad to see each other again and, as I say, Otley had better watch out!

Going back to our 36-8 win over Wakefield at Sixways last Saturday, I thought it was a good result.

Wakefield were well organised in defence and contested the ball well at the tackle and we had some problems there.

We were a little bit slow in support of the ball carrier and we got turned over more than we would have liked. But, at the end of the day, six tries is a good performance.

Just a mention here for one of our stars on Saturday, Jim Jenner, who has been very consistent over the last few months.

It's difficult to play out of your skin week in, week out, but Jim was one of our best ball carriers against Wakefield.

Ben Hinshelwood I thought also had a very good game, but having said that it was a team effort which was well rewarded.

There are a lot of people who are starting to play well and if we can get 10 guys playing very, very well on any one day then eventually we are going to hit somebody with a very good score.

After our victory over Wakefield, of course, we heard that Rotherham had just managed to win 36-31 at Bedford.

I've been at Bedford with Gloucester and I know that whoever takes the field for Bedford they always have a good side out. They always put up a good show and it's a difficult place to go to.

After we went there and won 20-11 in November I don't think we quite got the credit we deserved. It's a tough place and I knew Rotherham would find it hard.

In the end they came through and won, but I always thought they were capable of slipping up there. Unfortunately they didn't.
