ORGANISERS of a Worcester beer festival are looking for one lucky punter to taste more than 150 beers, as part of the Three Choirs Fringe Festival.

The beer drinker is needed to volunteer their taste buds ahead of The Great Three Choirs CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival to ensure that all the drinks are up to scratch.

More than 150 different beers and 30 ciders and perries, plus a selection of fruit wines will be served up to an estimated 5,000 visitors.

The taster will make sure all are in the best possible condition ahead of the opening night on Thursday, August 15, and help select a shortlist of entries for the Champion Beer of Festival competition.

The festival runs at the Pitchcroft racecourse until 11pm, on Saturday, August 17.

Volunteer tasters should email tasting@worcesterbeerfest.org.uk, register online at www.worcesterbeerfest.org.uk or send a postcard to Beer Tasting Competition, Worcester CAMRA, 84 Guarlford Road, Malvern, Worcs, WR14 3QT.

The closing date is Friday, August 9.

On the Fringe today Julia and William Scott were opening their 19th Century kitchen garden at 6 Rose Terrace, via Fort Royal Hill off London Road.

The garden was to be open all afternoon with entry for adults at £2 with accompanied children admitted free.
