THE biggest game of the season and it's just around the corner.

Rotherham v Worcester is a match we've seemingly been talking about for months and the players just cannot wait to get stuck in on Saturday when we visit Clifton Lane.

Certainly the confidence in the camp couldn't be better after our 66-17 weekend victory over Henley Hawks but everyone at Sixways is very aware that we face a different team in Yorkshire.

It's a game everyone wants to be involved in and, obviously, an absolutely vital one if we want to be playing in the Premiership next season.

You cannot get away from the fact that, realistically, we have to go there and win if we are to claim promotion this season. They lead the table from us and have a game in hand so really we need to beat them to get back in touch.

We know one another very well already this season after playing them twice. We won the early league match before they came to Sixways and knocked us out of the cup. There's no doubt about it, they are a very good side and we will have to be on top form to get anything out of the game.

The nice thing is, we have to win the game but there is absolutely no pressure on getting the bonus point. It would be nice, however, to beat them by more than seven points so they don't pick up a point like they did at Sixways.

The one area we know will be crucial to the outcome, as always in tight games, is discipline. In recent weeks we've been a little disappointed in our discipline and our penalty count has been too high. We know that if we give opportunities to Rotherham then we will be punished, it's as simple as that. At the same time, they have been conceding a lot of points in their last few matches so it goes both ways.

It is clear, though, that Rotherham are the out and out favourites for the match. They are the home side, top of the league and will have the pressure off them.

They have a game in hand and they will simply go out on Saturday knowing that they can afford to express themselves. Added to that, they have a vocal support and a very tight pitch so it's fair to say that we are the underdogs for the game.

The encouraging thing for us, though, is that our team seems to be getting better by the minute. Our defence has always been very tight but, on Saturday's evidence, our backs are now firing on all cylinders.

I was delighted with the performance for much of the game against Henley. It was obvious to anyone at Sixways that we played some very good stuff and, importantly, finished well. That was one area that we knew we had to improve on after the Birmingham & Solihull game and it was pleasing to see hard work on the training field transfer itself into a match.

Sateki Tuipulotu scored 32 points and I was delighted for him because he has had a tough time this season with his family problems and, lets not forget, injuries.

He is a really bubbly character and great to have around the place. Certainly he will be a key figure at the weekend and he goes into the match high on confidence.

It will be an interesting selection for John Brain that's for sure. A number of players, including myself, missed the Henley match and now the decision is to whether to put them back in and change a winning side.

Ben Clarke and Chris Yates were also absent but they have played in most of our matches this season and I know they are, like me, desperate to be involved.

It may be, though, that players such as Ben and Chris could yet make a big impact as 'super subs'. Having quality replacements can make such a difference in physical, tight games.

I know we are taking a sizeable crowd up to Yorkshire and if there is one thing I want more than anything it is to give them something to shout about. It's time for us to stand up and be counted.
