MALVERN Town, whose scheduled trip to Wolverhampton United on Saturday in the Express and Star Premier Division was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, saw their fine run of recent form brought to an abrupt halt during Tuesday's home league fixture against Darlaston.

It was the Black Country side who secured all three points, with three goals in the final fifteen minutes after Town had just secured a 3-1 lead.

Town boss, Joey Rawle, said: "It was very frustrating, we were not comfortable at the back all night, but once we had secured a 3-1 lead and with the form Wes Joyce and Dean Roberts were in, we always looked likely to go on and bag a couple more.

"They got a bit of a break with the penalty and we were unfortunate not to get a penalty ourselves in the final five minutes when the scores were level, but our defending in the last fifteen minutes left a lot to be desired."

Tomorrow (Saturday) Town will looking to put Tuesday' reverse behind them, when they entertain bottom of the table Dudley Town.

Missing for Town will be Lee Hooper who is holiday and Adam Ward, who sits out his last game of a 35 day suspension. Nick Clayton might be back from holiday in time to feature and Sean Cotterill and Adam Higgins who both missed the Darlaston game are likely to return.

Coach Neil Hunt said, "the management team had a long chat after tuesday's game about our defending and we might consider some changes. But on the positive side we have looked excellent going forward and hopefully we will pick things up again.

Malvern will select from: Alden, Higgins, Cotterill, Cannon, Taylor, Damore, Davies, Stevenson, Holmans, Clayton, Thomas, Slade, Joyce, Roberts, Mogford and Walker.

On Wednesday (February 6), Town visit Wellington in the West Midlands League Premier Division Cup (Kick Off 7.45pm).

Town general manager Richard Anson said, "We are taking this competition very seriously, despite the Darlaston set back, we have made strides in the last few weeks, and being out of the promotion frame need to make the most of the cup competitions."

Town Reserves' scheduled WFA Junior Cup Semi Final at home to Malvern Rangers, fell victim to the elements on Saturday, but the two sides have now arranged to meet at the Langland Stadium on Tuesday (February 5), kick-off 7.45pm.

Tomorrow (Saturday) the Reserves visit Bustlehome Reserves, in the Express and Star Division One (South), kick-off 2.15pm.
