THERE was further European Tour misery for Evesham golfer Jeremy Robinson last week (writes Mervyn Collins).

The 36-year-old was all set to make a welcome cut with five holes to play of his second round.

However, three dropped shots left him one adrift of the cut mark at the TNT Dutch Open and he was left to reflect painfully on another missed opportunity to pocket some much-needed prize money.

"I messed it up on both days," he honestly admitted.

"I had done the hard part on Friday and faced with the easiest five holes on the course should have made the cut comfortably.

"You can accept missing the cut when you don't play well but when you play well and miss out it's difficult to swallow. It was just criminal to miss out!"

Robinson started poorly, dropping three shots in his opening handful of holes last Thursday but was back to level par standing on the 18th tee.

However, he drove into trees and ended with a double bogey seven and an opening round of 72.

It was all looking good the next afternoon as he stood at three-under for the day after 13 holes.

But trouble was just around the corner and, despite a birdie at the last, Robinson's score of 141 was one too many.

"It doesn't do very much for the confidence but I've got to stop making these mistakes and make a few cuts," he admitted.

Robinson is in Stockholm for this week's Scandinavian Open that gets under way today.
