MALVERN slipped to a disappointing defeat at home to Star in the Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division on Saturday.
MALVERN TOWN 1, STAR 2
During the first half both sides had chances to take the lead, although it was the visitors who were always the more cohesive in their play. In the 50th minute it was Dean Roberts who broke the deadlock for Town, when he fired home from close range.
However, Malvern failed to build on the momentum of Roberts' strike and allowed the visitors to take over.
Certainly it was no surprise when Star equalised just ten minutes later, before taking a 65th minute lead following an error by Sean Davies.
Town recovered slightly after this, but were too laboured in their approach and did not seriously threaten the visitor's goal, despite enjoying the lion's share of possession.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Town visit Little Drayton Rangers (2.45) and then on Tuesday (February 19) entertain Bromyard Town at Langland Stadium (7.45) when they hope to have have a new signing available for selection.
