WORCESTER Nomads Sunday 1st XI made the trip to Pencombe, and found the home side keen to make amends for their defeat at Bransford a couple of weeks ago.

PENCOMBE v WORCESTER NOMADS

With only 10 men, Nomads struggled and they were restricted to 177. John Ranscombe made 57, supported by Darren Lakin (45).

The bowling however let the visitors down, and were unable to create any sort of pressure.

Pencombe made the winning score of 178-5 with relative ease.

WORCESTER NOMADS II v STOURBRIDGE SOCIAL

WORCESTER Nomads 2nd XI were at home to old PLJ League rivals Stourbridge Social.

On a flat track and with a short leg-side boundary, the bowlers were on a hiding to nothing, and so it proved. Stourbridge elected to bat first, and Hatton (81) and Lippitt (51) made rapid inroads.

The innings changed with the introduction of Kite (1-41) and Madzarevic (3-48), and the innings closed with the visitors on 223. Clark remained unbeaten on 54.

Nomads reply was emphatic. Dean Spiers was in imperious form sharing in an opening stand of 103 with Dave Pearson in only 14 overs. When he was out for 57 he deservedly gained warm applause.

Liam O'Driscoll hit a rapid 26, and Bill Jones (30) continued the chase. Skipper Pearson fell for 71 and there was a brief hiccup before Madzarevic (19no) and Lloyd (9no) saw the home side to victory.
