LIMITED waiting looks set to be introduced in Cowl Street, Evesham, following a request by county councillor Clive Holt.

The proposal was discussed at an Evesham Town Council meeting last week, where members backed the plans apart from a minor amendment.

Councillor Steve Selby said: "I agree with the proposal to create half-hour parking in the street, providing the disabled access is kept clear."

Councillors were aware, they said, that unauthorised parking regularly took place in the street and agreed that no complaints had been received as a result.

Councillor Roma Kirk, however, pointed out that there had been incidents where motorists ignored the no entry signs to Bridge Street, and said they ought to be much clearer.

The plan is to create three parking areas along one side of Cowl Street restricted to half an hour with no return within two hours, from Monday to Saturday, between 8am and 6pm.
