Journalist and publisher Jane Reed CBE was guest speaker at the Malvern Girls' College prize-giving at the Forum Theatre.
Ms Reed is a director of Times Newspapers and former editor of Woman and Woman's Own. She was also the managing editor of the first electronically generated newspaper, Today.
Following anecdotes about her career, she advised the girls to work hard and warned "if everything is coming your way, you're probably in the wrong lane!"
After a speech from head Philippa Leggate, parents and visitors took lunch in the college houses and enjoyed a commemoration service at Malvern Priory with the Reverend Alison Adams, director of the Bloxham Project.
The annual tradition of strawberries and cream in the quad, provided by the Friends of MGC, was enjoyed by all as the college jazz band entertained with some popular jazz classics.
The sixth form leavers' ball was held at Worcester Rugby Club with a Jubilee theme of 'all that glitters is gold'.
