ONE of the world's top choral ensembles for children is coming to Worcester's Huntingdon Hall this weekend as part of the Three Choirs Fringe Festival.

The Toronto Children's Chorus' repertoire includes pieces from the Renaissance to contemporary work by Canadian composers written specifically for them.

Proposed pieces for the concert include Gustav Holst's Ave Maria, Benjamin Britten's Missa Brevis, Eleanor Daley's What Sweeter Music and various pieces by Stephen Hatfield.

The concert will also include contributions from the celebrated Midland Youth Orchestra Octet and it is due to start at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Tickets cost £7.50 - concessions £6.50 and are available from Huntingdon Hall on 01905 611427.

Also tomorrow, Ragley Hall, Alcester, will be the setting for a mixture of music, fireworks and special effects.

The Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra, conducted Roderick Dunk, will be performing at the stately home's Firework and Music Fantasia between 7pm and 11pm. Gates open at 4.30pm.

Worcester Concert Brass will perform a wide range of popular and entertaining music including Glenn Miller pieces and Big Band classics.

The concert will be held St John-in-Bedwardine church, St John's, Worcester at 7.30pm.

Quizzes and games to find out if people have what it takes to be a wildlife ranger will also be held as part of a Ranger Training Day.

The activities run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at Chapter Meadows, Worcester. Anyone interested should meet at the interpretation board in Slingpool Walk, off Bromwich Road, Worcester.
