St Peter's Church in Bromyard will host a Jubilee choral concert tomorrow (Saturday) from 7.30pm.
Tenebrae, a choir of 12 singers from some of the finest choral foundations including Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, New College, Oxford and St John's College, Cambridge, has been assembled specifically for the concert to raise money for the village church of St Michael's in Edwyn Ralph. The church is currently undergoing repairs costing more than £40,000.
A selection of music spanning more than 400 years will be performed including Allegri's Miserere and Handel's Zadok the Priest.
The concert will end with some modern close-harmony arrangements of songs by writers such as Cole Porter, Gershwin and the Beach Boys.
An audience of around 200 is hoped for. Tickets cost £5.
