ON June 21, we published a picture of Alfred C Toone's band, asking for information.
Since then, Malvern Memories has learned that this band hailed from Germany and habitually played in the Promenade gardens of the Abbey Hotel.
The bass player in the right of the picture, a Mr Miller, settled down in Malvern, living near Laburnum Walk, raised a family and taught the violin.
Among his pupils was Percy Smith, who went on to become a well-known Malvern violin teacher in his own right.
