WE all worry about the euro, Saddam and Iraq, even the price of petrol! Now, we hear of an asteroid heading for Earth.
It's about 1.5 miles wide and is due here in 19 years time. With luck, I may still be around and, hopefully, so will my grandchildren. But not after it lands!
Are we assuming that our good friends, the Americans, will "nuke" it?
If so, don't hold your breath! It's a well-known and established fact that, when the Yanks have a bomb, the safest place to be is right on the target.
From Berlin in 1945, to Iraq, and recently Afghanistan, they've shown they can't hit a barn door at five paces. As Fraser in Dad's Army would say - "We're doomed"!
