PERSHORE Town have sacked manager Dave Connell ahead of the start of their Midland Combination campaign.
Connell took over last season when former boss Mick Preece stepped down following an infamous incident at Coventry Marconi when he was attacked.
His successor guided Pershore to sixth place in the league and won the Hospital Cup.
Secretary Mike Pugh has also stepped down but chairman Anthony Cosnett, who took over in May, has yet to name a successor.
Pershore drew 2-2 with last year's Midland Combination champions Grosvenor Park on Saturday.
