COMMUNITY centres and youth clubs across Herefordshire can continue to flourish, thanks to a £20,000 grant from a cider company.
The future of the South Wye Regeneration Project looked bleak when it lost its National Lottery funding.
But Bulmers stepped in with a £20,000 donation - a third of the £60,000 needed to keep the project's community development team running.
The cash was then matched by funding from Herefordshire Council and money raised by local charities.
"Without the co-ordinator Peter Banford and his team of three assistants, who provide vital support for the project, it would have been very difficult to complete the seven-year programme," said Bob Hardwick, deputy chairman of Bulmers' employee council.
The project has a budget of £4.3m, provided by the region's development agency Advantage West Midlands, to develop and improve community centres and youth clubs, along with other facilities.
It is managed by a partnership of residents associations, businesses, churches, schools and the voluntary sector.
