BROMSGROVE based PolymerLatex has been selected as one of four finalists in the Industry Reputation (single site) category of the 2002 Chemical Industries Awards.

The award, organised by the Chemical Industries Association, recognises the efforts of companies in promoting a positive image for the chemical industry.

The selection of PolymerLatex as a finalist reflects steps taken by the company to consult the local community and to provide feedback on activities surrounding its manufacturing operations. It also recognises the company's support of local schools, arts, sports and charities.

"We were delighted to be chosen as a finalist by the Chemical Industries Association," said managing director Graham Reed.

"As a company based close to our residential neighbours in Stoke Works, our team views our relationship with the local community as essential and believes in providing the opportunity for two-way communication, whether that is through community liaison or attendance at parish or district council meetings.

"We also believe that companies such as ours have a role to play in supporting local initiatives and acting as a positive presence within the community."
