IAN Britton hopes to confirm the permanent signing of midfielder Sean Flynn today.

The former West Brom, Coventry and Derby man impressed with a man-of-the-match display in Saturday's 3-2 friendly win over Cheltenham.

And Britton is believed to have upped the length of his contract offer to the 34-year-old freed by Tranmere after initially tabling a three-month deal.

Bromsgrove-based Flynn has received bigger financial packages from two Division Three rivals but would have to travel more than 100 miles or move.

And the central midfield man, whose family are settled in the area, wants to stay at Aggborough if Britton can offer him better security with a longer contract.

Harriers' board have their weekly meeting this morning and it is hoped they will rubberstamp the signing.

Flynn would add important experience to their young squad and he lined up in their team squad photograph yesterday.
