A LOCAL composer and pianist will give the first performance of a piece written especially for the Golden Jubilee as part of the Three Choirs Fringe Festival.

Colin Decio will perform Golden Jubilation accompanied by soprano Jane Field.

The concert, at St George's Church in Barbourne, Worcester, will include other examples of his work for piano and vocals, including his Piano Sonata No 3.

Tickets are £5 (£4 concessions) and the concert runs from 7.45pm to 9.30pm tonight.

Also on the fringe today, The Museum of Local Life, on Friar Street, Worcester, will be the setting for four plays about life in the city's Blockhouse area a century ago.

Explorers in Chapter Meadows will be able to listen to the "heartbeat" of one of the hedgerow trees as part of an Earth Walk.
