A FORMER West Bromwich Abion soccer star will be making a guest appearance at a Bromsgrove church this summer.

Cyrille Regis, once one of the most feared strikers in the old First Division, is just one of the highlights in a programme of Special Sunday's organised by the Newsong Community Church in Broad Street.

The fun kicks off this Sunday with a performance from Christian stand-up comedian, Brian Rice. There will also be a bouncy castle for the children.

On Sunday, August 18, there will be show by Christian children's entertainer and magician, Joe Ridgley.

The summer programme finishes on the following Sunday, August 25, with a visit from soccer favourite Cyrille Regis.

Newsong spokesperson, Maggie Bishton, said: "Each Sunday will be different - but all weeks will be focused on fun and laughter with an emphasis on telling people about Jesus.

And she advised people: "Don't miss this opportunity."

All summer specials run from 11am until 12pm.
