IN response to Madge Tillesley's letter (Advertiser, July 31), I feel compelled to put the record straight.
Of course I understand present legislation about who is responsible for reducing crime and disorder but my point was that some of the general public probably do not.
Also, I never said Redditch was an unsafe place to live. I did write as a member of the public by the way.
By bringing into the debate my background as a police officer is unhelpful and the nonsense about 'other agendas' is a mystery.
I am as baffled by Mrs Tillsley's letter as I was with the letter of Chief Supt Lord which prompted my first response.
I do, though, stand by what I said.
Mrs Tillesley's letter is another example of a so-called notary public figure being over sensitive and overreacting.
