A MASSIVE £60 million plan to improve and upgrade council houses in the town has been drawn up for the next five years.
Redditch Council has released its extensive housing plan which highlights the town's needs and problem areas.
It aims to tackle a number of housing issues specific to Redditch, including the high number of council tenants living in inappropriate properties.
A total of £2.6 million will be spent on catch-up repairs, £22.5 million will be spent on improvements, £35 million will fund programmed renewals and £820,000 has been earmarked for one-off major works.
The work was categorised into four areas after a condition survey of all council houses.
