Four star

GOLDMEMBER is pure gold.

Austin is back with his very own groove and all his usual sidekicks - Dr Evil, Mini-me, Fat B*****d, but this time with some very delicious females including Japanese twins Fook Yu and Fook Mi and the singer from Destiny's Child, Beyonce.

But it looked as though anyone with some kind of acting ability wanted to be in on this picture and it shows with cameos from Tom Cruise, Danny DeVito, Ozzy Osbourne and even Michael Caine as father of Austin Powers.

Powers (Mike Myers) is drawn back to the psychedelic 70s to save his kidnapped father, Nigel (Caine) from the loose skin-peeling Goldmember, a very flexible Dutch roller-skater.

And at the same time Goldmember along with Dr Evil is holding the world to ransom after threatening to pull a giant gold meteor on a collision course with Earth.

The slapstick humour is top class with honourable performances coming in from the mute Mini-me aka the tripod and of course Myers who is just a genius.

And the ending seems to suggest there will be more to come from Powers with Dr Evil's son Scott taking over the mantle.
