BROMSGROVE School's hockey coach Craig Parnham has returned without a medal from the Commonwealth Games.
Parnham was part of the England Men's team who were defeated 1-0 by South Africa in a semi-final qualification match on Wednesday, July 31.
Defeat meant the team failed to reach the last four.
The team set up the South African clash after finishing second with six points in their pool behind Pakistan.
Parnham comes away from the Manchester event with two goals to his name after hitting the net twice during England's 5-0 defeat of Wales in the pool stage.
England also beat Canada 2-1 but lost 3-0 to eventual bronze medallists Pakistan.
Australia took the gold medal in last Sunday's final with a 5-2 victory over New Zealand. Pakistan won bronze after thrashing South Africa 10-2.
