The Shuttle/Times and News has teamed up with the Green Flag 2002 MSA British Touring Car Championship to give away five pairs of tickets to the final BTCC meeting of the season, and one winner will be given the VIP treatment with a full pit and garage tour.

The grand finale, of what is turning out to be the hottest motorsport series this year takes place on September 20-22 at Donington Park.

A spectacular weekend of racing is guaranteed as the Derbyshire circuit plays host to the last of three "Super Weekenders", where the cream of the UK's single seater, sports and saloon car series line up to support the headline Green Flag British Touring Car Championship.

Kicking off the three day event on September 20, fans can watch the British Formula 3 Championship, the British GT Championship and the fabulous new World Sportscar Invitation Trophy - a real treat for historic race fans.

Other series adding their weight to this superb support race package include Formula Renault, Renault Clio, Porsche Cup and Formula Ford, all providing an explosion of dawn to dusk racing over the weekend.

But it is undoubtedly the intense rivalry in the Green Flag British Touring Car Championship that will provide the biggest thrills and spills on track. Anthony Reid

Vauxhall Motorsport reigned supreme last year but with a jam-packed grid of raw talent and experience, the Green Flag BTCC is sure to go down to the wire.

MG Sport and Racing, the first team to break Vauxhall's stranglehold on the championship earlier in the season at Silverstone, will be pushing the Oxon based outfit to the max in its bid to lift the Champion's trophy for that most British of marques, MG.

Yorkshireman James Thompson will consequently have to fend off the advances of MG Sport and Racing's Anthony Reid and Warren Hughes if he is to claim overall honours for Vauxhall Motorsport.

But, he will also have to keep a close eye on his team-mate Yvan Muller - last year's championship runner up - and the sister Vauxhall Egg Sport driver Midlander, Matt Neal, who also headed the championship points table this season. Matt Neal

They will be two title contenders who will be unwilling to share the spoils of victory.

With increased competition this year from manufacturers Honda, MG, Peugeot and Proton, the BTCC has re-affirmed its position as one of the most prestigious Touring Car series in the world. For the latest news visit the official BTCC website.
