THE future of the Greig Centre looks to have taken a step forward with plans for a partnership between the centre and Alcester Grammar School.
Stratford Council has allocated £7,000 for a feasibility study on developing a combined two-site approach between the two facilities.
The development would include:
The relocation of the sports hall from the Greig Centre to Alcester Grammar School, with guaranteed community access.
Full refurbishment and conversion of the Greig sports hall into community meeting rooms.
A new sports hall at the school site.
Social housing development on the site of the decrepit portable buildings at the Greig Centre.
Another report will be taken to the council's executive in the autumn and this will give the partner organisations a better idea of the overall concept and what could be jointly achieved.
