AVONCROFT CC Seconds secured a winning home draw against Old Halesonians last Saturday.
Batting first, a second wicket partnership of 107 between Iain Sach (48) and Matt Hare (44) laid a solid foundation for the innings.
A quick fire 56 from Rob Holden helped the side to a competitive final total of 194 from a rain-reduced 47 overs.
In reply, Old Halesonians lost wickets at regular intervals with Avoncroft producing one of their better fielding displays of the season.
Bob Irish took 4-38 while Jimmy Deakin recorded figures of 2-28.
They were backed up by Andy Nichol, who took the crucial wicket of Collins (50).
With Old Halesonians on 117-8 and only ten overs remaining, Avoncroft appeared to be on the verge of a well deserved victory before a thunderstorm brought an abrupt end to the game.
