A PLACE in the Nationwide League Division Three play-offs - that's the exciting prospect for Kidderminster Harriers as they stride confidently into the new year.

Their debut season in the Football League is proving to be an absorbing roller-coaster ride for Jan Molby and his players who are just three points adrift of a play-off spot.

And with the Aggborough boss convinced there is still more to come from his squad an intriguing second half to the campaign is on the cards.

So far there have been the highs and the lows of a club adapting to life in the full-time professional ranks.

And, generally, it's been a successful transition, although support through the turnstiles could - and should - be better.

Molby has fashioned a squad which can more than hold their own in the Third Division, although one or two players have yet to live up to expectations.

Goal scoring has not been easy and with a greater killer instinct Kidderminster could well have been safely in a top seven play-off position already.

To be in touching distance, however, highlights the progress they are making and underlines what could happen if they take full advantage of having games in hand over all the sides above them in the table.

On the cup front Harriers have a chance to make their mark in the LDV Vans Trophy, but face a difficult second round match at Second Division Bury on Wednesday, January 10.
