A RENEWED appeal for information has been made by police regarding an attempted handbag snatch in Pershore.

The woman was attacked as she walked through the Abbey Grounds at 10pm on July 10. She struggled and freed the handbag before the man ran off in the direction of the White Horse.

Now, new information has come to light, hence the renewed appeal.

The man is known to have been wearing a distinctive ring on his right thumb and PC Stuart Toms said: "We hope someone will recognise the description of the ring and link it with the details of the offender."

The ring is described as gold, with a snake on it and the head of the snake stands proud of the ring, almost in a 3D effect, and its eyes looking down at the thumbnail. The snake also has two red eyes.

The man is described as 35-40 years old, well built, over 6ft tall, with a mop of untidy dark coloured hair.

He was clean shaven and wearing a dark fleece with a white tick on the left hand side of the chest, dark jeans and black training shoes with white soles and laces.

Anyone with information about the attempted theft or anyone with recognises the description of the man or the ring is asked to contact PC Stuart Toms on 01905 723888 quoting c/603455.
