MARTLEY Cricket Club is issuing an invitation for ex-players to attend a reunion at this year's President's Day fixture.

Current president Don Taylor will once again provide the opposition for the match when they take on the 'locals' for the Mike Ganderton Memorial Trophy.

Martley's longest serving player Dave Bradley, a member of the club for 40 years, is one of the organisers. "We've had a game against the President's Eleven for many years, but want to make more of a day out of it," he said.

"It would be great to see some of the lads who have turned out regularly for the club in the last 45 years.

"We've lost contact with some and it would be good to have them along for a natter and a drink."

Martley is one of the oldest club's in the county and was formed in the 1850's.

It officially reformed in 1957, following a meeting at the Crown Inn, and anyone who has turned out for the club on a regular basis over the years is invited to pop along.

The game starts at 2.30pm on Sunday, August 25, at the Jewry Field Ground in Martley.
