BOSS Jan Molby admitted today that his verbal attack on Kidderminster Harriers 'pathetic' missing fans this week was the product of frustration.

Molby's outburst came after Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Halifax which was watched by a crowd of just 2,295, the second lowest league game at Aggborough this season.

He described the gate as 'pathetic', 'diabolical' and 'an absolute disgrace'.

The former Liverpool star is standing by his hard-hitting comments and hopes they will spark a better attendance for today's home clash with Macclesfield.

He said: "You look at what we are trying to achieve and you think, in an ideal world in the situation we are in, that you'd want to bring in one or two loan players to try and make a push for promotion.

"Where we are in the league you'd expect the gates would be going up and that there would possibly be more money available. That's not the case and because of that you get frustrated.

"People talk about where are the fans that came for our first Football League game last season against Tor-quay, but those sort of games are special. I'm talking about the fans who came for our recent matches against Rochdale, Hull and Luton.

"I would challenge any of them to say they didn't enjoy them, so where are they? We roughly had three and a half thousand of our own supporters against Rochdale, so where are those?

"There are 1,300 of them missing already if you look at the gate against Halifax. Over a period of the last three months we would probably be in the top five in the country in terms of points returned."
