I SENSED there was a feeling of frustration among certain parts of the crowd on Saturday before we got a couple of late goals to beat Leyton Orient.

And, I have to say, the last thing we need is for the fans to start getting at our players.

It wasn't a large section of the crowd by any means and it was only in brief spells, but the frustration was definitely there.

I can understand people getting frustrated at times, but believe me it doesn't help the players by showing it.

The thing we need is for all our supporters to get behind the players and in fairness, there were far more doing that than moaning.

But, I can't stress enough the importance of backing our players to the hilt, especially as it's our first season in the Football League.

We have got to learn to not let the frustration from the terraces filter into the players on the pitch because that can affect confidence -- and that's the last thing we want.

We've got one or two players at the moment who are a bit short on confidence and they need all the support they can get -- whatever the result.

When I took the job on a Aggborough we felt that within three years we would like to be in the Football League.

Well, that's exactly where we are now and well ahead of schedule. We are trying to build a team as well as a club and I think everybody has got to be appreciative of what we are attempting to do.

Everything we achieve we have got to be grateful for. We just can't start to expect things. Once you do that then I think you are in trouble.

We have got to support the lads and I'll tell you what, there's one thing they will always give -- and that's 100 per cent effort.

Of course, there are no guarantees that they are going to play well on the day, but they will always give everything they have got.

I think that was proved on Saturday when we went into the last quarter of an hour still trailing 1-0. But the lads kept going and they got their reward with a goal each from Craig Hinton and Dean Bennett.

I know we didn't play particularly well, but Orient are an excellent side.

In terms of having good players in all positions, I think they are the best we have seen so far this season.

I accept they are probably playing as well as they can whereas we are not really playing particularly well at the moment.

But we are working hard and trying to play our brand of football which I'm sure will be fully rewarded in the end. That's what happened on Saturday.

Orient said afterwards that they were impressed by what they saw at Aggborough. Like everybody who has visited us this season they enjoy the pitch. They think it's super.

But they did feel they were a little bit hard done by, losing the game. But, having said that, we felt we were hard done by when we lost at home against Carlisle and again when we drew down at Southend.

But it's all part of the game, that's why football is the king of game that it is -- it's unpredictable.

Before every match form goes out of the window and it's a game you just can't take your eyes off because you don't know what's going to happen next.

On Saturday, for instance, who could have predicted the result, particularly as we were trailing for so long.

But the fighting spirit and ability was there to see us through. We will get more results throughout the season like the one we got on Saturday where we came back from looking dead and buried. And that's because we refuse to give up.

We pinched a lot of points like that last season and I think that even when time is running out we never revert to just banging the ball forward.

Anyway, enough about last Saturday. We're now in the process of getting ourselves ready for Saturday's tough match at Cardiff.
