A CROWD of young people from Germany sampled some district delights when they descended on their twin town.

Thirty nine children aged between 12 and 15, from Husum, north Germany, got to know Kidderminster during a three-day visit. Adrian Jenkinson with the German visitors outside Kidderminster Town Hall.

They stayed at Kidderminster Youth House on a trip organised by youth workers in both towns.

"We did a lot with them. We had sports tournaments and barbecues and had a great time.

"They also went on a treasure hunt to practise their English and ask people some questions," said youth worker Adrian Jenkinson.

"A group of 12 young people from Kidderminster came down each night and they got on really well."

He added: "We hope to go to Husum in about a year's time so will have to start raising funds soon."

Other highlights included a trip to a watersports centre in Redditch and a bowling expedition to Worcester.
