INFLUENTIAL midfielder Danny Williams has bounced back from an injury scare to line up alongside a crop of Kidderminster Harriers players who will come off the casualty list to play in tonight's Division Three clash against high-riding rivals Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road (7.45).

Williams was carried off during the first half of Saturday's 1-0 win at York City with an ankle injury.

Although he did not train yesterday he is expected to play tonight with the ankle strapped up.

Dean Bennett (thigh), Richie Appleby (hamstring) and Scott Stamps (groin) are all likely to be passed fit after boss Jan Molby decided not to risk the trio at York. He preferred to give them extra time to recover and his gamble of delaying their return paid off thanks to striker Colin Larkin's late winner.

Alive

Tenth-in-the-table Kidderminster will go into the match four points adrift of the play-off zone and desperately in need of a win to keep their hopes alive.

Molby, putting aside talk of his expected move to Hull City, said: "It's a massive one for us, but it's never easy going to Cheltenham. They've had only one home league defeat all season.

"They did well in their first season in the Football League, just finishing outside the play-offs. This season they have added Tony Naylor and I think he's been the key for them. He's a very clever player and scored 20-odd goal last season for Port Vale.

"But they still have their strength, organisation and they have got some good players to go with it.

"Their players are getting used to the Football League, so I think they have done exceptionally well. I think they are very much in the running for automatic promotion.

"With the position they are in at the moment they are having crowds in excess of 4,000 and the average gate is 3,700. If we could get that we would be absolutely delighted."

Cheltenham are currently fifth in the table with games in hand over all their promotion-chasing rivals.

Molby said: "They had a tough home game against Rochdale on Saturday and drew 1-1. But Rochdale are going well so Cheltenham would probably look at that as being a good results after being beaten at Halifax in their previous match.

"They bounced back, but they haven't just done well on Saturday they have done well all season."
