CONFUSION over Broadway's 30mph speed limit may not be resolved until late autumn, according to county council officials.
After Worcestershire County Council published new traffic orders, two objectors came forward. They said that Station Road, from the railway bridge, was not suitable for a 30mph speed limit.
Now a host of formalities have to be gone through before the 30mph can be formally re-enforced.
Worcestershire County Council traffic engineer Tony Cooper said: "We are waiting for the chief constable's response to the objectors' comments.
"Once we have got his views we have to prepare a report to consider the objections then send it to county and district councillors.
"This procedure takes quite a number of weeks but the matter should be finalised before Christmas. In the end, although we must take into consideration all the views, the county council makes the final decision."
In May this year, because of a technicality over street lighting, it was discovered that no traffic orders existed for the present 30mph speed limit.
Police suspended speed checks in the village because they believed the limit might not be enforceable.
