KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have put Sam Shilton on standby to take over from injured Dean Bennett for tonight's Nationwide League Division Three clash against Shrewsbury Town at Aggborough (7.45).

Midfielder Bennett suffered a shin injury in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Plymouth as is being regarded as a major fitness doubt.

Harriers manager Jan Molby said: "He got the injury in the first half and has had an X-ray on it. We'll have to wait and see but it's highly likely he's going to miss the game."

Shilton, who recently spent a week in bed with influenza, was among Kidderminster's unused substitutes on Saturday when midfielders Danny Williams and Andy Ducros, together with striker Bo Henriksen, were all sidelined through injury.

The trio will again miss out tonight with Williams struggling to overcome a knee wound which he sustained in the recent 2-1 defeat at Swansea.

Molby said: "By accounts there weren't enough stitches put in so we have to re-stitch it and it's going to take a little bit longer."

Henriksen (groin and hamstring) could be out for another 10-14 days while Ducros (ankle) will be unavailable for further week. Added to the squad is young midfielder Daire Doyle.

Kidderminster will be out to avenge a humiliating 4-0 defeat when they visited Gay Meadow earlier this season.

It was a grim result which Molby still regards as one of the lowest points of the season which, since then, has improved sufficiently to hoist his 11th placed side to within eight points of the play-off zone.

Harriers, however, have failed to win in their last five outings and are desperate to return to winning ways against Shrewsbury who currently occupy the final play-off spot, having played two more games than Molby's men.

He said: "They have done very well. They have probably done slightly better than what they thought. They are still there so it's going to be an interesting game.

"We owe them one because when we lost there 4-0 it was a very low point. Last season it was evenly poised with them winning 1-0 at home and us winning 3-1 at Aggborough so hopefully we can get our own back.

"Our defeat at Shrewsbury in September was bad because we contributed a lot to that ourselves with some poor play."

Harriers will play Solihull Borough in the semi-final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup on Monday, March 18.

FORMCAST: Harriers to draw 1-1.
