AS a parent of a member of the Malvern Pony Club, I am writing in response to the unjustified letter from Ken Gorf (Your Letters, August 2).
Seventeen children aged between five and eleven attended junior camp at the Three Counties Showground. They were divided up into small groups with an instructor for each group. A PA system was not used at any time and certainly would not be required if one had been available to us.
Camp ran from Monday July 22, to Thursday, July 25, starting at 8am and finishing at 4pm each day, when all the Malvern children went home for the night. The children's behaviour was impeccable and it was a pleasure to be with them all.
With reference to the mobile phones being switched off, perhaps Mr Gorf confused our activities with the event that was at the showground on the weekend prior to our camp when the staff there may not have been available.
Perhaps next year Mr Gorf would like to spend a day with us and see how camp operates - quietly I think he will find.
MRS J JONES, Cockshot Road, Malvern.
