IN a 40 over match at Spetchley Park on a rather damp wicket West Malvern lost the toss and were put into bat.
WEST MALVERN CC v TIBBERTON TAVERNERS
After losing a wicket in the first over with no runs on the scoreboard, slow progress was made with valuable contributions from M Cross (37), and R Blackshaw (32). Wickets fell at regular intervals and at 126-9 only a last wicket partnership of 33 between J Mantle and R Blackbourn pushed the score up to a reasonable total of 159 all out.
In reply Tibberton could not come to terms with either the conditions or the bowling of the West, Mark Foster (18) and C Williams (19no) were top scorers.
T Twichett (4-14) was the best of the bowlers, leaving Tibberton all out after only 26 overs for 77 runs with West Malvern winning by 82 runs.
