A MOBILE religious education unit has been launched at a Worcester church because of the popularity of the first multimedia centre.
The GSUS Live presentation, equipped with 3D video and interactive technology, was unveiled on Saturday by COUNTIES, a Christian mission agency, at Woodgreen Evangelical Church, Warndon Villages.
GSUS Live aims to represent a new generation of religious education resources that seeks to make the teachings of Jesus relevant to the issues young people are facing.
It follows COUNTIES' hugely successful Christian presentation The Bible Experience, which has been visited by thousands of young people since its inception in 1994.
GSUS Live is aimed at 11 to 14-year-old pupils and will host a 45-minute RE lesson for up to 32 pupils at one sitting.
Using an interactive multimedia presentation, young people are invited to investigate Jesus' teaching in the three key topics.
Following the launch, the new unit will be on display and demonstrations will take place every 20-minutes.
The GSUS Live mobile classroom is available free of charge to secondary schools through local churches and other groups committed to providing Christian resources in education.
Since the first GSUS Live trailer was introduced two years ago, it has been continually booked up and more than 35,000 school pupils have used it.
"Young people today are tired of being told what's good for them," said Mick Cox, chief executive of COUNTIES. "GSUS Live doesn't attempt to tell them what's right and wrong."
