DELIGHTED John Brain described Worcester's performance, in their 53-7 demolition of London Welsh, as total rugby.
The Sixways director of rugby was full of praise for his side as they illuminated Old Deer Park with some scintillating tries in the first half.
"London Welsh's coach said it was the best half of rugby he had seen in his six years at this level," said Brain.
"That says it all and my players can take great credit for the performance because it was superb. It was total rugby from us. London Welsh are not a bad side and to come here and play like that shows we are making progress.
"Andy Keast and I are proud to be associated with the players after that performance. We are not just happy but proud of them. It was a privilege to be part of the effort."
Brain saw Worcester go into half time 43-0 up after a supreme exhibition of rugby even after Werner Swanepoel's 26th minute red card. And he described the display as the best he has seen since his Sixways arrival.
"It was the best so far," he added. "It was total rugby. You had phase play, incisive, strong running from the backs and powerful driving from the forwards. When Andy and I came together in January, that was what we wanted to see from the team. That is the style of play we wanted, very much a 15-man effort.
"We are very, very pleased with them. There is a long way to go yet but I think it is clear that we are moving in the right direction.
"Even when we went down to 14 men, we played some good stuff and scored four tries with a man down. We also kept things very tight and London Welsh only scored one try in the second half and that was from an interception.
"The players have put in a lot of work and much of the time they are under a lot of pressure. However, when they play like they did, they deserve all the credit.
"We have played seven league games so far and have a one hundred per cent record despite playing some difficult teams. Things are looking good."
