BARRY Williams scored twice as Droitwich Spa Hockey Club Men's First XI won 2-1 at Walsall.
Williams' double gave Spa their second successive victory in DTZ West Midlands Premier following their 3-2 defeat of Stone last week.
Droitwich took the game to the hosts and were unlucky not to take an early lead when Ed Deacon struck the outside of the post.
Walsall had a goal ruled out midway through the half as the game became an end to end affair.
Spa took the lead just before the break when Williams caught the defence in possession and took on the goalkeeper to score.
Intercepted
The visitors continued to attack in the second half but Walsall came up with an equaliser from a penalty corner.
As the game headed for a draw, Droitwich came up with the winner.
Andy Harris took on the defence and his shot was intercepted by Williams who flicked it over the goalkeeper for 2-1.
Droitwich's next league game is at Wednesbury on Saturday week.
