PLANS are afoot to try to ban drinking in certain parts of Studley.
The parish council has applied to Stratford Council to introduce the measures under the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001.
Parish councillors were due to discuss the proposals at a meeting last night and it is thought getting drinking banned in Marble Alley will be top of the list of priorities.
The initiative would help curb the problem of nuisance youths hanging around the streets of the village, according to parish council clerk Dot Mitchell.
Mrs Mitchell said consultation would have to be carried out with police and evidence would have to be provided that there was a drinking problem in the area.
Police will have the power to confiscate alcohol and anyone who refuses can be arrested.
Meanwhile, plans to install a youth shelter in the village have been deferred for now.
