THE Mayor of Worcester Councillor Robert Rowden hosted a reception in the for triumphant members of Worcester Rowing Club.
They included rowers from the men's senior A crew who were successful at the Dartmouth Royal Regatta.
They also won the Wyfold Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 2000.
The same year the four also represented the West Midlands and won the Inter Regional Championships.
They gained bronze at the National Championships and won the West of England Challenge Vase for the fifth consecutive year which means they have now claimed that event at each of the locations where it is contested.
In addition, they have also scored individual successes.
Jane Fisher has won gold at the national and world indoor rowing championships and began this year by winning bronze at the Ghent International Regatta.
She went on to win the National Veteran Championships and a silver in a scull at the National Championships.
She is currently training with the Great Britain Development squad in the hope of being selected for the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
The vast majority of those attending the reception competed and won something at Dartmouth Royal Regatta.
The crew that won the men's senior A event with the same crew which won the Wyfold Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 2000. It comprised Chris Chilton, Peter Crozier, Chris Farr and Jeremy Richardson and with the addition of Rachel Roberts as cox.
This year that same crew represented the West Midlands and won the Inter Regional Championships.
They won bronze and silver medals at the National Championships and won the West of England Challenge Vase for the fifth consecutive year, which means that they have now won that event at each of the locations where it is contested.
