A Victorian evening was held on October 2, when members Beryl Village, Joan Peck and Joy Peers passed on their knowledge of the Victorian era.
Mrs Village gave a demonstration of cooking, Mrs Beeton-style, including mincemeat, apricot relish, cheese pastry, cheese straws and jam.
Mrs Peck created flower arrangements using ferns, aspidistras, palms, chrysanthemums, carnations and lilies, which were the most popular flowers and foliage used in Victorian times.
Continuing the theme, Mrs Peers showed how to mix a victoria sponge. Following the demonstrations members were able to sample various items.
The next meeting will be on November 6 when the title of Veronica Coe's demonstration is Christmas Logs and Lamplight.
The meeting will be held in St Mary's Chantry, Kidderminster, beginning at 7.30pm.
Visitors are welcome.
