At the October meeting, a minute's silence was observed in memory of Hazel Grant.
Also in her memory, members filled a food box for European Aid, organised by St George's Church.
Sue Stone reminded of coming outings, to Bodenham, and to Webb's Nursery on November 21. A skittles match is being organised.
Sylvia Sheldon was the guest speaker, her topic being Seasonal Scenes. She showed slides of the Dowles area, with sun, snow and flowers.
Edith Sheldon was the Flower-of-the-month winner, and the competition was won by Avril Powell.
A working, and tasting, meeting will be held on November 7, when Sue Stone and her assistants will be Getting Ahead for Christmas.
Visitors will be welcome, and everyone attending is asked to bring a pair of scissors.
