The Kidderminster branch's first meeting of the season in the new venue featured a talk by Paul Allen, countryside and conservation officer of Wyre Forest District Council.
He accompanied his talk with slides and spoke of work carried out on the 10 nature reserves which are managed by the department.
Mr Allen discussed conservation and management, which increase the habitats for insects, butterflies, birds and mammals.
In September an outing was organised to the wet woodland, Hurcott nature reserve, when 14 species of birds were seen, including a tawny owl and goldcrests.
The indoor meeting on Wednesday at St Oswald's Church Centre, will welcome wildlife photographer Mike Wilkes with an illustrated talk entitled Birds - Autumn to Spring starting at 7.30pm.
The outdoor meeting on Sunday, October 27, has been relocated to Bodenham Arboretum, to the RSPB's "information day". Members should meet in the arboretum car park at 2pm and should take membership cards, or incur admission charge.
