FAIRFIELD Villa Ladies consolidated their place at the top of West Midlands division one (south) with a convincing 6-1 victory over Leamington.
Top goalscorer Kelly Godfrey bagged a hat-trick and Mel Bunn got two as Villa continued their impressive run of form.
Fairfield have scored eight and seven goals in their last two games respetively and show no signs of letting up.
They broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when Godfrey raced through to make it 1-0.
But the hosts were struggling and a spirited Leamington side were very unfortunate to concede three times in the last five minutes of the half.
Godfrey flicked the ball on for Bunn to beat the goalkeeper for 2-0. A minute later Godfrey made it three and then completed her hat-trick a minute from the break.
In the second half, Godfrey put in Sarah Lewis for number five who also saw a 30-yard drive hit the bar.
Bunn made it 6-0 with her second 15 minutes from time.
Leamington grabbed a consolation just before the end despite the efforts of goalkeeper Emma Moore.
l Manager Matt Williams has signed Birmingham City midfielder Helen Ward who will be eligible to play against second place Headless Cross next Sunday.
