DEAR EDITOR - I note in the local Press this past week that the 'Park and Ride' scheme in Worcester is to be extended .
I believe this is a good idea but not at the detriment of our local buses here in Droitwich.
Last week we heard about the cancellation of some buses and re-routing of others.
We are now approaching winter's dark mornings and nights which deters many of our elderly folk from going out in the evenings - but will find it difficult to get out during the day.
Also how are we expected to get to work in safety.
In Droitwich Spa, where I live, the 20 bus route will be re-routed to bypass two vital estates. Many who live there do not have any other form of transport.
A brand new hospital has been built in Worcester which many residents have to use and will have to resort to other ways to get there.
How stupid to place this facility out of town and not expect people to get there.
Yes to 'Park and Ride' but what about the ones who do not have a car or other transport at their disposal.
A.Isaacs,
Droitwich Spa.
