DEAR EDITOR - Mr Padmore (letters 02/10/02) may consider it not to be legitimate tactics for Miss Kirkbride to be asking her constituents what is important for them.
The alternative view might be to consider it a particularly sensible manner to improve the involvement of local people in the democratic process, which Mr Padmore does not seem to have considered. He also is unaware, or chooses to ignore, the fact that Miss Kirkbride happens to be a very good constituency MP.
