THE annual general meeting of Chaddesley Corbett WI was held on Wednesday, October 2, at the village hall.
The evening commenced with business matters followed by annual reports from the treasurer, secretary and president. The evening continued with the election of new president, Barbara Maskell.
We then had a most interesting and informative talk by Jackie Gregory, who works closely with people in the Gambia. Chaddesley Corbett WI has contributed to the ShoeBox Appeal, knitted jumpers and ladies underwear - Jackie being affectionately known as the "Knickers Lady"!
Letters from the Gambia were read which made us all feel the effort had been worthwhile.
Our produce and craft show commenced with Roma Punt praising our efforts. The number of entries were of a high standard with greater achievements in presentation. The overall winner was Joyce Rowthorn. The various cups were presented and then followed social time with coffee and biscuits. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at 7.30pm in the village hall.
